This is considered the best view of the city of London from the top. You have to have a reservation, which is free, but if you don’t, we will share a tip that can get you up here without a reservation. Welcome to Sky Garden London.

Our Experiment: Trying to Enter Without Reservation

We’re experimenting, we’re going to leave our hotel head to Sky Garden without reservation, let’s see if we can get get in this time, we’ll show you a clip we tried to go in couple of nights back and weren’t able to get in, there is a line foring see if we get turned around, that was a fail.

The Monday Morning Trick

There is one way to get in on Monday morning if we get here between 800 and 9:30, it’s 9:30 Monday morning and let’s see what happens, all right let’s see if this mission is a success, it’s 9:47 let’s see if we can get to the sky garden and go inside, I remember few nights back when we came here and uh weren’t able to get in, so let’s check our luck now, okay security I’m going to put it down, hey welcome to Sky Garden.

Getting Our Drinks

We got to get our drink first and then we can sit down and explore, let’s go, so we are getting two hot chocolates as part of the 9 50 each that we paid for the two adults, we’ll explain this little loophole that cost a little bit of money that will get you in if you have not booked a ticket to the sky Garden, all right so we got our two hot chocolates for £950, let’s bring the hot chocolates to Mom, here you go hot chocolate, o thank you.

How the Loophole Works

We were here in London for only 2 days, we tried coming here and coming to the top on Saturday evening that’s the day we landed here, but because we didn’t have a prior reservation we were not allowed to come in and we couldn’t buy tickets at the time, but the nice security guard that day really helped us with a tip and he said if you come

Monday early morning before 10:00 that’s a Time slot between 8 to 10: when you can buy a hot chocolate at the top Sky Garden Cafe and that can get you an entry, but that’s before 10 because after 10 the reservation people start coming in and then there is no entry allow, so what we did today we got here around 9:54, the same uh security officer was standing outside, he recognized us and he said you have 6 minutes go in for 9 L 50 for each adult kids are free, for 950 we can come up grab a hot chocolate that actually cost $950,

so what we’re paying for is a cup of hot chocolate and that’s how you get up. We were considered the paid Walkins, yeah we were consider the paid Walkins, now technically the sky Garden is still free but to get a hot chocolate, now if it was after 10 a.m. then you wouldn’t be able to get in.

Starting Our Tour

So we just finished our delicious and creamy hot chocolate. We’re going to start giving you a tour from the left-hand side and show you what this place has to offer. So you come out of the elevator. There are a whole lot of tables here. They do have some snacks and chips. This is the place where you redeem your free hot chocolate.

The Indoor Garden

His loves plans, so anytime we stay in a hotel or go any place indoors and they have plans the kid is mesmerized by them, he just wants to stare at them, I you know and and we discovered that five six years ago when we went to Hyatt Regency Connecticut uh for a quick uh winter getaway and he loved that uh hotel and we have been there multiple times, we have we haven’t been there like maybe four or five years four years yeah, b

ut he loves plants and I think this is a perfect place for him to stare, are you staring before coming up here he did say I’m more excited about the garden part than the sky part of it which is funny. Still, he’s not joking, he’s he actually ever since he’s come up he’s just staring at plants, maybe that tells us something about his uh future goals.

Temperature Note

First Views

I just saw Tower Bridge, let’s go, what did you Tower Bridge, now we going to start showing you guys The View, they do have signage here that tells you what you’re looking at, so this is a view of the Tower of London, you see the square building right in the middle that’s the Tower of London, this I think used to be the tallest building in London, what yeah years ago hundreds of 11 11th century,

so it was so big it was considered the tallest building in London, and then that is the reason why the bridge next to it when it was built it’s called Tower Bridge because it’s they tried to match it with the Tower of London, so there you have it a view of Tower of London.

Moving Upstairs

We’re going to head up uh stairs to City Garden, City Garden bar, Darin Bry F Church restaurant, and furch public Terrace, and that’s what we’re going to go explore next. We do have a nice little secluded sofa bar here with a view of the Cafe we were sitting at and all of the glass, so if you don’t want to hang out down there you can definitely come up here for a private little moment.

Crowd Levels

You can see um that it’s starting to get a little crowded, it’s about 11:00 in the morning. Stickers in the window are extremely helpful, it also keeps you engaged as you’re looking at the city of London. On our hunt, uh, in the windows is the Canary Warf, so a little bit more flights up is a more secluded table and chair area with more plants. I mean, it seems like Hiser is in heaven, right, kids, so high up in London but surrounded by so many plants.

Restaurant Area

See the Darwin, uh, browser, uh, up there, and the side door to that restaurant with the glass view of where we were sitting with those nice sofas and plants. So there’s Alia standing, Alia, did you find the Olympic Stadium? I cannot, okay? We couldn’t, so we’re going to throw the question back out to you guys: Do you see the Olympic stadium in this view? White Chapel View

There’s a view of the White Chapel neighborhood. That’s where we are staying. We have Hyatt Place in London East in White Chapel near White Chapel station. So, if you’re interested in staying in that higher place, make sure you go check out that video. We actually are enjoying it. It’s a very eclectic little hotel.

360-Degree Views

Now, from this we have reached the other side of the corner, we’re going to cover Four Corners, so here we are on this side, you can see there is this platform, you cannot stand here, another Cafe, more gardens that come. What I like Alia is that it’s a 360 Garden not just one way face, oh and I see that beautiful building here you have the girkin which is my favorite building in all of London, maybe a little bit controversial but you know you know we travel the world but we just have never seen a building like this.

So, the Girkin is my favorite, Alia. What about you? It’s very unique, and what’s best about it is that you look at it and you know it’s London. I think this is the one that defines or identifies the city of London. I totally agree.

Seating Policy

So something that I really appreciate about this area is that on every Cafe table, you will find this note that says you feel free to sit at any of the tables, you don’t need to buy any food or drinks, but if you would like to see the menu, this is where you scan. So I love how they are allowing you to just sit anywhere without pressuring you into buying anything, this is such a nice gesture, it almost wants you to go and support them and buy something.

Unique London Architecture

Al is going to get the boys who have been playing in the garden right here, and that’s a special London building called the Girin. All right, so this is the Leen Hall building. Check out all that mechanism up top. I think it’s the hot water heat or some other system, but I’ve never seen anything like that. So, between the Gherkin and the Leen Hall buildings, London definitely has a unique skyline.

More Views

There is another view of the other side of the building. On the far left-hand side, you can see the London Eye, and right next to it, on the other side of the Thames, would be the Big Ben. Another question for anybody watching this: Can you identify this building? Put it in the comments below, and then it will confirm whether you’re right or not.

You see that glass building go over there there is London Eye go over there it’s hidden behind, I see the Big Ben in my camera, Big Ben you see it oh yeah it’s very small so we’ll highlight on the screen you can see big band London eye from here but because uh River themes is uh curvy it kind of tricks you a little bit cuz you’re looking straight you know looking for a Big Ben but it’s not straight.

Barbican Building

This is the Barbican building, a very nice way for you to learn about London architecture. Come, read the name, if you don’t know it, Google, and then locate it here right in front of you. Also, the Vble Stadium sign for the Church, these stairs next to the Fen Church restaurant, there’s one more Terrace to go up the stairs to keep exploring, let’s go keep exploring.

Upper Terrace

Right so you can check out the view from the staircase, it’s a gorgeous space, welcome to the last Terrace at the sky Garden, more tables up here with this uh empty counter they probably use that as a box, there’s the restaurant behind you and these are the stairs that we just came up on. So you can see it has a little climb but the views keep you busy, this is the front entry those are the sofas where we were sitting, you can look at the outdoor Terrace area so it’s a pretty big place even if it’s crowded you can always come up here and hang out cuz it’s empty.

Temperature Reminder

The thing to keep in mind is that this seems like it’s indoors, but it’s not properly heated, so it is almost the same temperature as we were outside yesterday. I have my gloves on, but my hands are freezing, so I’m going to put my hands in my Pockets, so be properly dressed if you are coming here. Personally, when I looked at it on YouTube or in the videos, I thought it was indoors, but it’s not hot at all. Yeah, now if you come in summer, it’s probably very hot because of the sun.

BT Tower View

Now we’re heading down we’re going to continue the tour on the side we are on the right hand side, place is so big and because of reservation system it is never feeling like uberly crowded right like this family just got their table just now uh we’re going to wait for the BT Tower next until then what are you looking at?

I finally know the name of that Tower that we’ve been seeing for three days. This Tower, yes, it’s B Tower. You know it reminds me of the Tokyo Tower. For me, it reminds me of the SE and the downtown in Toronto. See, yeah, I think you’re more right than I am, but it reminds us of towers around the world. St. Paul’s Cathedral

Next is St Paul’s Cathedral. Ah, I think that’s the one that, yeah, okay, so my favorite classical building is the St Paul’s Cathedral. All right, Alia. What’s next after St Paul’s Cathedral? Check out the view of the Sky Garden from here.

Bridges View

I think next up is the Black Fries Bridge. So, between the London Bridge and the Black Fries Bridge, can you guess which one is the Black Fries Bridge? I think from the shape of the picture, uh, this right here, the SE sea blue shade, is the one that looks like this one, the green one, yeah. The last two here are the Millennium Bridge and the monument. Here’s the Fire Monument.

Completing Our Tour

Give you a quick check that’s where we started from, we went up, explored the top Terrace, the back area with the girkin, came back down these steps, and there are stickers on these windows throughout, so make sure you stop, uh, take out your phones if you can recognize a name or a building. Still, it’s really well laid out, it’s actually great for the kids too, but our kids probably find the wildlife and the plants more interesting than these two boys. Sky for the adults, Garden for the kids, Sky for the adults, Garden for the kids. Nice job, Sky Garden.

Glass Ceiling View

Up top, you can see the crew walking on the curved glass. Why I my hand, oh that’s incredible. The place is getting a little bit more crowded—it’s almost noon—but you can still find plenty of places to sit and relax.

Outdoor Terrace

Now, next up, show everyone what The View From the Terrace looks like. These doors are closed, but they do open, and here you go. We’re going to start on the right-hand side. We’ll wait for these guys to go, and then we’ll start showing you guys around. Alia, it’s much warmer outside today because of the Sun than inside.

Final Views

There one of the first Windows you see the tape modern and houses of Parliament and uh this is your view, this is the London Bridge, London Bridge that’s the one that’s the one most people confuse that for London Bridge that’s the tower bridge that’s the London Bridge very simple and plain. If you can’t see the London Eye, I’ll zoom in. There is the London Eye. All behind you is a tall building. Can you name it? Yeah, it’s the Shard.

The sun is right in our eye, but you can still get a beautiful view of London all around you. This is where we were hanging out from the outside, but outside gets a little crowded. See the HMS Belfast and City Hall. Next up is St Catherine’s Docks. I figured all the boats were, those were the dogs, and over there was the St Catherine dog. Maybe this is the Tower Bridge now.

There is a little glare if you’re taking pictures, you’ve got to move around and make sure the glare is minimal. You will still see some glare in our videos, but it’s all because there are windows, and of course, at this height, they are still a little bit Dusty.
